To that "photojournalist" at the Los Angeles Times who got sacked today for modifying photographs from Iraq --

You so FUCKING deserve it.

This is war, you fuckchop - not People Magazine!

...improve the composition, my ass...

I saw that on TV, he pretty much just flushed the creditablity of the Newspaper now. This will hurt the L.A. Times for a long time.

That's really crappy. And geez, someone needs to teach the guy about altering colors in his program -- one glance at the soldier's vest tells the viewer the image has been altered.

This reminds me of an incident someone mentioned on one of my MUNCLE lists. They'd been watching a CNN telecast from Iraq where the correspondant decked out in fatigues, speaking very muffled through a gas mask. During the telecast, the camera swung over to show some nearby wreckage, and directly behind the cameraman could be seen a man casually smoking a cigarette.

Good lord... *I* can Photoshop better than that!!!

What an idiot... the first picture was fine, as far as I can be a judge.... in fact, the composition looked BETTER to me than in his obviously altered 'final'.

And of course, once I take of the objective artist goggles and such... *kicks him in the shin*

Repeat after me dumbass: War is NOT art. War is NOT entertainment. War is NOT just an excuse to give you a raise.

Agreed. And added you to my friends list. Anyone who bashes the L.A. Times and uses the word "fuckchop" correctly in a sentence has to be incredibly awesome.

All the buzz in the office today. Looking over my shoulder at the photos, our photographer said, "THAT RAN???" This is so totally unheard of at OUR 60,000-circ. level that none of us can believe an L.A. Times photographer did it. In an interview with Poynter, the photog said "I cannot explain my complete lack of judgment." This phrase is now being incorporated into our lexicons for "stupid excuses." He's done in this business, forever and ever, amen. And rightfully so. As our photog said, "Learn how to mop floors now."o
