Hearing water is bad in both our books. Consider the history. Running water where there should be not is very bad. Like broken plumbing bad.

Unpacking the office last night, Jim stopped and asked me - and we both froze. Oh shit.

Silly monkeys. We'd never heard rain in the new house before.

It was pouring out.

Putting ourselves to sleep, the lightning began with distant thunder. The dog hated it and wanted in. So we brought her in. Carrier and all. No, she wanted out of the carrier.

Uh, no.

Somewhere in the middle of the night, both dog and carrier went back outside.

And as soon as the sun came up, so did the dog's carrying on outside. No, she's not missing a paw or her tail - though it sounds like it.

Comes in, jumps on the bed and goes to sleep. Or climbs down and goes under the bed.

She needs a playmate. Baaaaad.

But it smells brand-new outside this morning. Mmm. Rain like that is very rare here in summer - a blessing.

Yanno, I'll make the observation here in my own journal and put it rest.

I feel very sorry for anyone who wishes me ill here. That whole icon fracas was an eye-opener. (I'm still cleaning up the spent testosterone casings after they got [livejournal.com profile] unclejimbo's ire up.) My friends surprised me. Pleased me. Surprised me. Completely without any input from me. After going through most of my life totally invisible, it's a strange feeling.

Just...continue to use good judgment going forward, just as was done this time, okay?

I do try to be on the right side of things, but I can be wrong. I can always be wrong.

(Holy cow - I have friends who will defend me...who'd have thunk it?)
