Hello, clue department? A whole administration got away with invading a country, not to mention killing a whole lotta people...and is getting away with calling detractors "un-American" and much worse...not to mention the whole French Fries bit...and let's not forget the whole "Patriot Acts I & II" farce.
Ask yourself how much of this is based on real factual cause, and how much of it is sheer hubris disguised as paranoia. Ask the cops who fired into the crowds in Oakland why they did it.
You're living in a country that doesn't tolerate diversity, bud. If they don't like your looks, they can do whatever they like to you. The least of which is deny you work. Yessir, the very least.
Get a haircut, forget the piercings and cover up those tats. You'll be fine. Nobody cares how well you take care of yourself. Honest. Expressing yourself? Please.

Date: 2003-04-23 10:22 am (UTC)I protested against the war, I don't like what happened in Oakland, and I'm still going to bitch about wanting people to accept diversity here 'til the day I die or move elsewhere. And I'm going to keep my 'weird' hair too. I like the way it looks on me, and to hell with anyone who thinks I'm less human than the skinny, heterosexual bottle blonde wearing something out of a mall ad... I'm not going to sit down and take what they have to say lying down either.
If everyone *does* just shut up and blend in, it's guaranteed nothing is going to change.
