A lot of "motivational" calendars often turn into guilt trips, I find - or death marches. Get up and do something today! RARH. If you can find something that truly comforts as well as motivates, hang onto it - the quality is rare, indeed.

And so I offer today's mp3 - another one-of-a-kind cut off the Manilow box set. The original version of I Made It Through The Rain. The version that finally was pressed into general release was the reworked lyric that came up when Barry decided the original was "too narrow." Whether that decision was based on how sellable the song was to become, or just an awareness of who the audience was and playing to that - both songs are too much to listen to on a day-to-day basis, sort of like eating dark chocolate. It's good - but too intense for more than a few bites.

But on some days, this is the song I want to hear, with the words that mean more.
