I must be the only soul on earth who actually likes brussel sprouts. If very fresh, they're quite tasty. I steam mine with mint in the steaming water.

Now that actually sounds pretty good.

Mom *loved* giving us these and maintained they were good for us. All I know, I ran away from home for a night with a bud when she combined these with meatloaf once.

The China Super Buffet in the old neighborhood also serves these...very tiny ones, mind...drenched in butter. Not too bad.

And then there was the winter in Switzerland when they were they only green thing I could find to eat in the market....

If only it were that easy to convince my mom not to cook some stuff... I was the kid who would sit at the table defiantly refusing to eat the food in front of her hours after everyone else was done waaay too many times. =P

Oh, that's grand! And yes I do really detest brussle sprouts that much. My mother tried every way she knew how to make me eat them. I'd eat one and then throw myself on the floor "dying" theatrically. Mom wasn't amused. George, my mother's boyfriend who lived with us, used to egg me on and chase me around the kitchen with them and then laugh at me as I shrieked and ran. I won't ever make my children eat them.
