Ganked, cross-posted, what-have-you - it's from solidkz's journal and I'm passing it along:

There is no internet access in a genuine War Zone, nor time to get on if there were. In fact, aside from good old fashioned mail, there's no contact at all with the outside world. I'm currently standing near the Iranian Border East of Baghdad and though I've heard Rumors of a ceasefire, Things haven't Changed much. Two meals a day and four hours sleep is the norm, as is harrasment fire froom the Pro Iran and Pro Saddam groups in the Area.

But I'm keeping my head down and doing my job, so I'm staying safe.

Things are going well and I'm ready to leave, but I imagine it will be a while. Y'all probably know more from the News than I do. In any case, though, for the Benefit of those on my friends list who don't read Supiluliumas' Journal, I've had Brotherriparius Transcribe this for me to mine. For those of you who don't know Mike very well, he's the one and only record-holder of "Making a Anime Music Video in a War Zone" for his work during the Bosnian conflict. He's a combat photographer. I'm sending Pocky.

Awe, I hope he comes home safe. My brother's over there too, but you probably already know that. I heard a while back that he was supposed to be coming home at the end of this month, but I dont' think that's gonna happen :( Good luck to Mike.
