Yup. With the only working toliet in the backyard. Behind a locked door. In the dark.
Yup, yup, yup.

EDIT: 26 Days. If this is perimenopause, I'm Mickey Mouse.

Mine's always 28 days
Date: 2003-06-10 04:14 pm (UTC)The only really bad scare I've had since involved forgetting to take pills for a few days after being knocked out by pain pills after a surgery.
That's the only drawback I found: you have to be disciplined, or have someone else keep track for you. But at least I no longer look at the calendar and panic. =P

And at this point, being pregnant is in the plan and would be welcome. This is a good place to be, believe me!

Date: 2003-06-11 11:30 am (UTC)Sis is almost a given; she has two tremendously healthy kids and had them at and after 30. I'd have to say I was likely carried with the help of added progesterone, which they give with patches these days.
There are other causes for the birth defects you mentioned which are far more heritable than environmental, unfortunately - a friend of the family who survived childhood cancer (and fell out of remission after she had twins) had a child with similar defects, heart-wise. They blamed the chemo - but realy, it's a crapshoot.
For me, I plan to have plenty of testing done - I'm one of those people who would term a pregnancy with significant chromosomal defects. That includes Down's, but it also includes trisomy-9 and trisomy-13 which are horrid, nasty, ugly things that aren't survivable outside the womb.

Date: 2003-06-10 04:42 pm (UTC)This is a good thing, too...at least, once Charles has the necessary surgery.
I haven't forgotten your offer and I will probably take you up on it.

Much the same way you got yours. *evil grin*

Thought this was totally whacked until I checked. All true!

Date: 2003-06-10 08:26 pm (UTC)A friend of mine in high school had a Magic Bathroom, where more than one girl on more than one occasion exited, sighing with relief, and asking for a pad.
Either way, if a baby is in the Plan, good luck! You and Jim have so much love to give. I'm always so amazed (in a good way) by folks who really prepare themselves & make the decision to be parents.
