Been busy, I have. And mostly to the good, I'd have to say.
I've watched Andy Williams be the pork chop at a kosher wedding - (link needs PDF support) - Andy Williams duets with Ray Charles at the height of both their games...it works, but it has to be seen to be believed....
Spent an hour in the yard today, weeding. Got good and dirty, then went in the backyard and pruned the hell out of the rose trees. Wore two sets of work gloves and managed not to get punctured. Go me.
Did ALL the laundry. Laundry all done. Repeat. It's a good thing.
No dirty dishes. Ditto.
Tomorrow, I'll probably manage to get the rest of the basic housework done, leaving Jim with two days off to figure out what else could get done around here -
That all includes playing Final Fantasy X - at last - and after spending about twelve hours on it, thinking 'wow, this isn't all that hard...I suck, but I'm getting through....', I began to get my ass kicked. I've seen the bloody "Game OVER" screen half a dozen times now, and knew it was coming each time. Ah, well. I've had this in the slush pile for about year (yes, really. I have a game slush pile. And my PS2 has dust on it. Most of the time, yes. Surprised?), and after seeing the concert, got curious enough to give it a spin. Jim's enjoying the GameBoy release very much right now - it finally made him put the Pokemon Fire Red away, and I can only be grateful for that. We like Pokemon far too much for our own good.
Had
caitlin over for dinner and taxes (you wanna know, ask her) - and as Jim has call all this weekend (and working shifts too, no love there), not much more than stuff I can do on my own this weekend.
Oh - can anyone answer me this one? I've been all over town today, to all my favorite haunts, for incense.
Never had any trouble finding it. In bulk -
Until today. WTF.
I'm not talking about it being low or the selection being small. I mean, GONE.
Across the board - Japanese, Chinese, Indian - didn't matter where I went. All that was left was the cheap-ass stuff you'd burn for someone you hated and didn't want to spend either time or money on. Or be in the same room with when it was burnt.
Then I thought - tsunami. Hmm. Could be?
I've got some time - but it's a bit unexpected. I also have enough in my personal stock...there it is again, that slush pile thing...but I've never seen anything like it.
Going to go mix myself a drink out on the hood of the washer. Funny thing, foster home certification. You have to have all the booze under lock - and the logical place to do that in our home, is out in the laundry room that locks. So if I want something to drink, I have to go stand out there and mix it on top of the washer. Special. And no, you can't bring the bottle with you.
There's just something unreal about mixing a Bailey's with Butterscotch schnapps in a child's teacup on top of the washer, yanno?
