You heard about Washington Post article on the amendment that passed, that would block the U.S. military from allowing female troops into any new jobs related to ground operations without congressional approval, right?reannon does such a good job of summing up, I'll let her do the talking. She does it well. Unlike Rep. Loretta Sanchez - ""If . . . we don't want to see women killed, then maybe you should make a law that says women can't be in Iraq." *face palms* Douchebag. I know her district - it's Orange County in California, and they hate her too.

Catholic high school thinks pregnant girls are in "poor taste" - so much so, they can't participate in commencement exercises. The father, however, is just fine and can do whatever.

I don't suggest you be gay and near male Marines. Ever. Particularly near Yuma, Arizona. This is one to watch - and gee, you didn't hear a thing about it, did you?kynn is following this one - he's asked if the authorities are looking at this as a hate crime. Does anything qualify if this doesn't?

Would anyone care to argue that any of these stances are "conservative" ones - no, really. Traditional, legitimate, intelligent, law-abiding...conservative. It also points up that the "liberal" stance usually has more to do with simply being left alone to make the best decisions possible out of the broadest possible opportunities - emphasis on being left the hell alone. In each of these cases, it is someone deciding that somebody else not do something, that prompts the action. Should not. A judgment call on someone else's behavior.
Yanno, nobody asked you to like it. Do you have to eliminate it to satisfy your comfort level?
