Gawd, yesterday was weird.

Morning, cool. Working well and getting stuff done. Knocking 'em down. Yeah.

Of course, they crashed the translator because the databases were out of space, but they told me and not the people who needed to know - even when I told them they needed to.

Oh, well. Can lead the horse to water, but ice skating is still OUT.

And I worked...and got paid...so more work figuring out how much money we actually have. Take a call, work on another project - four desktops, no waiting. Buzz, buzz, buzz.

ZAP. Power out.

*Huh?*

Then my computer comes up, while nothing else does. Whaddya know? I'm on one of those lucky outlets on the "house power" circuit - which means, power outage, smower outage. I'm on the generator, and I will NEVER go down.

However, the mission critical programmers are SOL, and are now leaving the building.

Guys, come back and use my machine...really. Guys?

They throw together four machines in the conference room so they can continue to work. They make it.

Turns out a transformer blew up - fire engines, the works. And inside of two hours, power was restored and everyone had already gone home. Oh, well.

But because I had house power, they plugged a power strip into my cubie, and then ran long extension cords...snakes! Big bright pink snakes!

I still have the biggest maglite in the building. Boss has color-coordinated ones for his car, so I guess he gets more points....

Bills done, featherbed bought but not enough left over to get camera. Maybe a piece of the supersystem. Stay tuned.

Saturday! Morning! I get an hour to myself before I have to wake Jim the migraine-afflicted and see if I can have him to look at houses this morning.

See ya.
