Oh My Me

NPR's "Morning Edition" had the most kickass bumper music this morning.

Don't ask me how much fun ripping CDs is not for me.

However, here are the links to the disks themselves.

A real kickass cover of Kashmir - or something that sounded MUCH like it, but go figure with Jimmy Page on the project -
Godzilla (Japanese Version Of The 1998 Movie)

And an edit of both the Peter Gunn Theme and Every Breath You Take that should make a mind-bender of an AMV video someday - another soundtrack, go figure -
The Sopranos - Peppers and Eggs: Music from the television series
- and it has clips for sampling.

Yes, I am ordering them. And I'll share - someday.

Ghad, being technically inept is annoying.

My personality is rated 35.
What is yours?

Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

I picked up a nifty gadget over the weekend - a pedometer. Yup, now I can get confirmation on how much walking I DON'T do.

What is the recommended amount? At least 2 - 4 miles a day?

Welcome to my world. I may put a hundred miles a day on the car, but I walk less than 3/10's of a mile a day. No wonder I'm not the weight my driver's license says I am.

Yanno the little battery-powered toys you see in the cages that oink, walk, oink some more, walk some more, etc.?

And they hit the edge of the pen and keep walking?

That's me.

I desperately need to move. I've "sold" my house three times. I'm going to have to wait until someone "buys" it again before I can do anything. ANYTHING.

I got Jim NeverWinter Nights for Christmas. We don't have a machine capable of running it.

I can download mp3s at work, but I can't play them. I'm waiting for a new machine, and I keep getting told somebody has a part on order...she even had a Mac version on order for me, and I don't have a Mac (and the new machine is a Dell). I have to wait for this person to quit making mistakes and get me the right part.

That's the personal stuff. My work stuff is slow as shit - that's why I'm getting a new machine.

I'd love to rip some CDs and make mp3s at home. I downloaded Real One and while I can save tracks, I can't convert them without paying Real Audio money. Every month. Forever.

I can't get DSL at home. I only have dialup there. And since I have the house on the market, I'm not going to pursue a cable modem - I give the cable company plenty of money already, thank you.

There are more games to play, DVDs to see, books to read than ever - but I am home less than four waking hours a day, and I have to do Grown Up Things instead.

Just point me at the wall and watch me keep walking. Oink, oink.
