A lesson in teasing out true, false and WTF.

And a very simple one, at that.

It takes time to sift through any amount of "evidence."

How long did it take to find out that neither Clinton had done anything "bookable" re: Whitewater? And that the only thing Clinton could be arguably tried for was lying about a blowjob? He lied to a Grand Jury about being unfaithful to his wife. Took how long to make that determination?

It took almost the entire two terms of Clinton in office. And cost a buncha money.

And that was after someone brought the case, which has not been the case with any of the Bush administration - yet. No, these things don't just happen. You have to pay someone. [livejournal.com profile] aiobheil can speak to this - you have to pay them, and keep paying them.

"Free" country - uh, no. There has been the idea that everyone should have access to the legal process, but in the past that access was provided by various and sundry supported programs - including the whole "public defender" concept.

Try finding any kind of legal aid now.

I'm picking up bits and pieces of the Jackson case from time to time (no, I don't have a radio in the car, at my desk, or at work and I don't watch television news at home. Rarely. I read newspapers - when I get enough time. Which I haven't lately.) I am immediately struck by how the legal process is first trying to determine what evidence can be allowed. Not that there is any, but what. And gathered how.

I think we should look at everything, including how it was obtained - and decide that in the courts. Don't you?

I think my objection is the order in which they do that.

Random drive-by gripe. Your mileage may vary.

Look what I brought for show and tell!

How to recover a Marine.

One of my favorite memories was the one night a friend and I found a vanload of Marines from Twenty-Nine Palms trying to find their way with a topo map to Camp Pendleton....heading for Idyllwild in Hemet.

That's due East, when you need to be going South. If they kept trying that direction, they'd get right back to where they had started from, after going up and down a really big hill. REALLY big. Biggest one around, outside of San Gorgonio.

We found them nearly at the foot of it, totally baffled.

We gave them directions, pointed them the right way....and found them heading right back to Idyllwild half a hour later.

At that point, we put them on our bumper, told them to stay there, and we took them out to old Hwy 395 and drove them through Perris - and told them to keep going, and Godspeed.

Go ahead, be as fierce and narsty as you wanna be. You were a nineteen-year-old dork once. I've seen it.

Too many folks in the path of this one. Again. I'm reminded of how many times I've had to smile and graciously nod at the kooks who said California was going to fall into the ocean. I swear, I could make a better case for Florida to be fscking scoured from the face of the Earth. The Red Cross could really use a couple of bucks, folks. Stay safe - and things are just things, after all. You can replace things. **worries**

Over. And - how long ago did they arrest this guy?

Pussy does TheraFLU! (Okay, that might not be funny - in truth, it doesn't bode well at all.)

And no, this is NOT Chicago - or 1968.

Payday can't come soon enough.
