Well, it's raining. Okay.

All of the propositions failed. Every last one of them, and for me, I couldn't be more pleased. I didn't like any of them.

Who wants to take odds Schwarzenegger doesn't run for re-election? *chuckles*

Got news from Mom yesterday - there actually is a problem with a partial block that causing kidney function to take a dive, so there will be a procedure done VERY soon to put a stent back in, and we should see improvement again.

And she took a fall that included a spell of unconsciousness. Special. *sigh* Already checked to see what it would take to get us back home in a hurry should we have to - and it's not impossible, but who wants to leave home wondering if they'll have to hurry back? Will talk to Sis - and Mom again - today to see how things go.

15 hours ahead. Take the time, push it to the opposite side of the clock, minus three hours. From this side, push it ahead to the opposite side of the clock, plus three hours.

Last day of work before vacation. Hope everything stays quiet today - I need to be bored stiff with nothing to do, because - well, that means everything is buttoned up and ready for me to leave it for a while.

Began packing last night - just got some things to pick up from the store (including a box of Luna bars from Trader Joes) and I should be ready to take to the skies.

*sigh* You know, I've stayed this close to home because Mom is here. I'm only going to be gone a week. Blargh. I didn't like being in Switzerland because I didn't want to be away if something happened - *slaps self.* Dude, being here or being there isn't going to change a damn thing. Being here isn't going to improve the situation one bit - and there are plenty of folks on the ground already managing things.

But should I take a drop-dead run out to Hemet to see her before we go? She's pretty spooked -

Cardinal Paul Poupard, head of the Pontifical Council for Culture, said the Genesis description of how God created the universe and Darwin's theory of evolution were "perfectly compatible" if the Bible were read correctly.

Jeez, no wonder the Baptists hate them so.

For the record, I do better with most catholics than the ijits who park their SUVs down the street at Calvary Chapel.
