Leaving on a jet plane -

Well, that's after dinner tonight.

Talked to Mom. Talked to Sis. Talked to Jim's Mom, even. We're going. Matter of fact, I made the command decision not to try to drive the three hours round trip (in pouring rain yesterday) to go see her - Sis and I decided it would be too agitating on both of us, to no good purpose.

I'd like to see the corrective actions taken before I left, but likely, they'll be taken before the weekend and Mom will be better when I get back. One hopes. The truth? I'd better get used to this.

I'm not eating kangaroo. Can't make me.

And there's someone meeting me at the airport when I get there. davidh_aus! Tell me the internet is a faceless void. Go ahead. I laugh in your general direction. And yes, I'm wearing my LJ shirt for the first time tonight.

Got a voicemail from Mom while I was out doing last minute shopping - she's on her way into the emergency room to get this procedure done, as they couldn't get it scheduled outpatient within a reasonable amount of time.

NEVER using an HMO. SHEESH.

Mom sounded okay on the message, will call her if I can from the airport - and you can bet I'll be checking in while I'm out.

And she said GO. I'm GOING.

(I got told to do the same thing for my own benefit when Cliff was living with his mother in 1996 - went to the one and only trip to Disneyworld in Florida. He ended up in the ER back then, too. *shakes head*)

Got my shower, got my haircut - packed, ready - even left a note on the refrigerator. OH, gotta drop a note to silverkun.
