You really ought to be protesting the discrimination you're experiencing, BTW. The girls can do it two years younger, at age 12!

Then why does it suddenly sound okay if the genders are flipped?

You're female, no problem.

You're male, you have to be at least 42 years old. Because. They require you to be at least 40 years older than any female child you'd adopt.

Nevermind all the calls I get to field because I'm the one with two XX chromosomes. Because somehow, in the process, Jim can't be trusted to handle the information or be accountable for it. The assumptions are just made and it irritates me no end.

And then reasonable authority puts the seal of approval on it, and suddenly it's OTAY WITH US'NS.

Oh hell no. I specifically direct Jim to handle a lot of the communication for this reason - in particular.

Boy, are they in for it when he shows up to do daycare inspections, doctor visits and everything else.
