Just right - not too long, not too short, not too expensive.

([livejournal.com profile] digitaldraco, tabletop games whenever your're ready. Seriously.)

However, that Dave & Busters had to be the most beat up store I've ever been in.

Seriously - if you were playing ticket-dispensing machines, your choices were severely limited as 3/4's of them were OOO - and the ones that played? I don't think dispensed accurately.

Jim went out and blew things up, as is his wont - he didn't notice.

I got a stuffie out of the claw machine for Mike, and went home with a beach towel and an outboard set of headphone-jack speakers, thanks to having a hefty balance on my card already.

Very glad I ate before I went, and had coffee when I got there. Nice bunch of folks, and nice outing.

But I think D & B is getting a nasty gram today.

And now? Now, I work. Yay.

It's wise to Google yourself on a regular basis. Just to see what shows up.

Some more information on the origin of my handle.

How did I end up with it? Back in the bad ol' days of AOL, and I wanted to use any of my old handles - found them all taken. So in a fit of pique, I exclaimed "I'll use something SWISS and be done with it!"

And kyburg wasn't taken. Historically, the Stapfers were knights of this castle, until the last one made off with the army payroll and defected to Austria, the old horse thief.

That's how.

We managed to do something Idaho, Washington state, Texas and a buncha other places couldn't do for over thirty years. Convict this guy.

“Look at his demeanor in court – he's smiling, he's telling everyone he's going to appeal and he's going to win. In his mind, he's the smartest one in the room,” Fein said. “That's his downfall – his narcissism. My hope is that everything he does from now on will be from a prison cell.”

Although police say Schwartzmiller appears to have spent much of the past three decades years in California, he has also been arrested on child molestation charges in New York, Idaho, Oregon, Arkansas and Washington. He has lived in Nevada, Texas and Washington.

In 1984, the Idaho Supreme Court upheld a 1978 conviction for molesting two 14-year-old boys and characterized Schwartzmiller as a “repeat offender” who “uses his intelligence to take advantage of the weak and oppressed and those who are in need.”

Schwartzmiller “frequents areas where young boys may be found, befriends boys with no father figure in the home, entices them from their homes, lowers their natural inhibitions through the use of drugs and alcohol, and commits sex acts upon them,” the justices wrote.

At the time of his arrest in 2005, he was wanted in Oregon on felony sexual assault charges involving a minor. After serving prison time in Idaho for child molestation in the late 1970s, he lived in Brazil, and was extradited from there to Idaho again in the late 1980s.

Schwartzmiller has used aliases including Dean Harmon and Dean Miller. He apparently gained the trust of victims and parents by working as a home renovation contractor. He didn't register as a sex offender so he did not appear in the “Megan's Law” databases in California or other states, police said.

The guy kept a friggin' BINDER and it took thirty years?!
