I'm exhausted.
May. 29th, 2009 02:30 pmThis week has been quite the E ticket ride. To the good, daycare is reporting that whatever we did over the three day weekend - keep it up, because kiddo was So Much Better on Tuesday it was amazing.
I'm a bit bemused because all we did was load him up and run him around all three days at outdoor events (doggydoggydoggydoggy). But I will say the English is accelerating at an increasingly breakneck pace. He is attempting *everything* now - with mixed results - and I don't know many kids who talk on the phone as well as he does, but he was happy to tell me he had a 'motorbicycle' (he has a wood plate puzzle set that has all kinds of moving things like planes, cars, buses, trains...and a motorcycle) and that "I wuv yooooo!" at lunch today when I called home.
Being able to have a conversation. What a concept. Swear to God, if I get the chance to teach from this experience, I'll never refuse. Ever. I never want anyone to not know what I didn't know - and no, I won't just say useless things like 'it's hard' - okay?
Time to get things stored and organized, it's getting pretty ridiculous as well. I need to write up the document that will go with his adoption papers, Taiwan passport and photo albums - I think it's going to be important for perspective. Also, in twenty years, what might I forget? (Or heaven forbid, get hit by a bus.)
It's pretty clear to me the kid is used to having someone play the piano - to play mine, I have to get it tuned. To get it tuned, I have to clean. It. Off. *grumble*
Bronchitis just about gone. It's June. Fuckaduck.
I've got my first of two sitter ride-a-longs Saturday afternoon - setting up backup care and getting ready for AX in July. One this month, one next month - and this weekend, doing the evening routine from 4:30 - 8:30 PM. We also have an outing tomorrow to take in right at lunch time with other families with kids adopted from China - small group, looks promising.
Powers that be? Can I remind you I asked you to be nice to Jim? Did you forget or something? Just checking...because what smacks him, smacks me and kid as well and it's just not nice. He isn't digging it, we're worried about him and stuff.
Looking forward to dinner out tonight and a cozy sleep. Such luxury!
