Haha, so I’ve been saying I’m going to write something like this forever, and then yesterday my housemate found that someone beat me to it.
Required reading, friends! So you don’t screw it up if you’re writing fanfic – and so you can suffer along with me if you’re reading it.
My contribution to the smut talk behind the cut. XD (And also one of my Craig-writing friend’s finest moments.) So strap in for –

Posts like this are so incredibly helpful. I really appreciate both the link and your personal insight.
I’m always so grateful when gay men speak up about ‘what it’s like’, especially in a fandom context. I often try to include a touch of realism into my porn, or to do something out of the ordinary with it, but it’s difficult without a firm basis of understanding - not just of the mechanics involved, but of the psychological and emotional aspects as well. Since the preponderance of fanfic writers are generally female, there ends up being kind of an echo-chamber effect, where people read stories about something, incorporate it into their own stories, and it somehow becomes enshrined as The Way Things Are. And as noted, it’s fine to write that way if one wants to, but it’s also nice to know what things one can get away with changing or not using, and what things one can’t without losing any sense of reality for those who have participated in the act in question.
So, thank you for sharing both the link and your thoughts!

(And remember, kids: flared base on your toys. You don’t want to lose anything in there, it’s going to be an embarrassing ER visit.)
DO NOT PUT THINGS IN YO ASS WITHOUT A STOPPER ON THE END, whether that’s a base or a (long) cord or some other kind of “this part CANNOT wind up inside.”
Emergency room nurses have nightmare stories about these things.
Wine bottles are apparently very dangerous, but not the worst. The worst? Light bulbs.
