A quiche I made last week dripped on the floor of the oven and every time I use it now, I get the scorched reminder of it. Oh, well.

I found $38 in my wallet today when I cleaned it out - bonus! I forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight - doh! Oh well - a Stouffer's lasagna will take care of that - and we can eat lunches on it for the rest of the week.

Last call for shoes, folks - I'm going shopping tomorrow.

Honestly - today was one of those. As Jim is fond of saying - they ran me hard and put me away wet, Ma....

Today was the day of the picky-ass bullshit. Is there more than one carton to a pickticket? Well, of course there is - but wait! Sandy says she designed the spec to force it to one carton per line, and the pickticket is duplicated! And shut up and do it her way -
Fine. I'll let the customer tell her she's a doof.

Then the document is in EDIFACT - the UN standard I'm not as well-versed in, a completely new map for a new document type we've never done and it's as picky as a chinese mamma in a fish market. I came out of it with a sendable document and felt like I should be high-fived. I settled for ice cream with the programmer who's shared this nightmare with me for months.

I don't really mind people asking me about stuff, but when the attitude is "you're lying!" I get a little ruffled. I have a customer who wants to start sending at least one, perhaps two mission critical documents without testing. Not my idea. I have to pony up the email exchange I had with the customer where I put my foot down and stomped angrily - to no avail. Welcome to the world of the 800 lb. gorilla. Yes'm, I'se will do whatever youse says, I will - I'll test in production a document that could screw up the A/P for months. And thank you for the priviledge. Bah.

Yes, I did tell the customer we could not test. No, they don't care. And no, this is not my idea.

*pout*

I hope nobody in the path of Claudette is getting flattened too badly. Earthquakes get named after the fact, and usually associated by location and date. Yanno, it would be more fun if we named them after anime characters - or something.

I checked and Donna was the name of the hurricane that went through Dade County the year I was born - I'll take it.

Let's rename the Northridge quake Voltron or something.

*looks at the above and facepalms*

Shit. It's hot and I HAVE worked too hard today.
