I owe miwasatoshi a huge reply. I haven't forgotten.

I have reinstalled the OS. I have reinstalled the browser three times. I have seen improvement everywhere, but I still can't scroll worth a dingus.

Contacting support tonight when I get home - and yup, it'll cost me. Oh, well. I'll admit I'm stumped. Everything else is fine - and the system is actually running better, overall so it's not totally wasted effort.

Also, no bloatware was found, outside of one ad loader. No viruses found.

But I'm sure something got through and fucked up IE. The home page was changed to some minor league search engine I'd never use on a bet.

But I killed it with great glee and overwrote that information three times over.

Just as a matter of warning ... I probably won't reply to your reply by virtue to being already long past that topic.

You do understand, though, that my view of that particular topic is hardly one that I would willingly choose or even remotely like, but I can't acquiesce simply for the sake of acquiescence.

The drive to this stems largely from the lack of complete information you've got behind my opinion.

What's so ideal about a country that has had 16 civil wars and has a clause in its consitution banning the hiring of its citizens as mercenaries on both sides of any armed conflict? There's more - I'll be back when it doesn't take 15 minutes to type 5 words.

Good point. Switzerland was a very MESSY country prior to the 1600s (they invented and perfected push-of-pike and the usage of tercios IIRC) ... it's stayed relatively peaceful since by staying out of everyone else's beeswax.
