WSJ reporters got wind of something wrong with Enron in August, WWI began in August, I believe Hitler and Stalin concluded their non-aggresion pact in August which was the final detail Hitler needed to begin WWII on Sept 1. Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait August second or third, I belive thus beginning the Gulf War.

Other than a personally important birthday during August, I would just as soon skip the entire month. It is always hot and humid and it gets in the way of the opening of Football season.~G~
