I'm not surprised.

The swordsmiths in Bilbao and Toledo were quite famous in their day -- the word "bilbo" (from Bilbao) is actually an archaic synonym for a fine-quality blade or dagger.

Gee, where have I heard "bilbo" before? Hmm...

Although I lack the prerequisite swordsmanship knowledge, I can tell you I was very impressed with their steel. I regret not buying even a lesser Toledo sword when I lived in Spain.
