At work - waiting for something to happen

kyburgThey're migrating everything from one server to another. I'm here to verify settings if they need to. Or something like that.
I didn't write a line of the code, not one of the scripts and I only operate one of the software packages as an end-user.
But somewhere along the line, I became the know-it-all. Riiight.
Whatever.

My goodness, nearly 1:30 already.
Yesterday, it might have been Talk Like a Pirate day - here, the way we express stress is by feeding each other. Probably not healthy, but nobody goes hungry. Yesterday, I came in with cupcakes to discover both doughnuts and turnovers, plus the boss made a trip to the farmer's market and got chips and hummus and veggies...
It was Talk With Your Mouth Full day here.
Finally, something that tastes as good as it sounds - Numi Tea. They're based in Oakland, CA - somebody go to work for them, please. I'll trade shoes for tea. They make all kinds and so far, none of them are bad!
I am ignoring the fact AWA is next week and we aren't going. Just dropped a c-note plus on the internet this morning for birthday presents and supplies for Thanksgiving. Welcome to the holidays.
Time to start thinking about Dickensfair up north. Time to think about New Years - it looks like a potential five days off in a row. With no obligations. At all. *plots and schemes*
The cats are now chasing each other throughout the house in a mad game of tag - complete with rules. I get you - now you get me!
Hiroshi has also been dubbed the mad eating machine - he's eating everything - everything! And growing like mad - he'll be Ai-chan's size by the end of the year, maybe larger. He's already as long as she is.
It's nice to be greeted by Peace and Love at the end of the day when I get home. ^^
Today, I work - and Jim is working tonight and tomorrow night. Maybe we can get haircuts together tomorrow. We just barely managed breakfast together this morning.

being_homeless will be out here next weekend to do her turn on the Sharon Osborne show - so help me, she's getting fed on my nickel at least once. And getting shoes. I'm hoping she'll have time.

Guess I could go look up stuff for Thanksgiving and begin writing the invitiation letter.
