Headphones at work -
Oct. 2nd, 2003 03:59 pmMake fixing functionals bearable.
The software vendor says they have a patch. They're going to send it to me before they send it to their own QA department. I said no. Boss just laughed and said "You haven't figured it out yet? WE'RE their QA - "
Boss has finally decided it's time to complain about politics again - Ashcroft got the brunt of it. Finally. Finally. We kind of congregate around a cubicle and let fly - Rush Limbaugh lasted longer than I thought on a Disney network claiming to be the "voice of the fan." Good grief. He didn't sound like any large group of fans I've ever known - welcome to reality, folks. As far as he's concerned, it's all a plot and everyone else's fault. No matter what it is - you disagree with him, it's a plot.
I'm tired.
I finally got on top this afternoon - it should get easier now. There's more work on a daily basis to do until this translator glitch is fixed, but I hope I've gotten the backlog managed. Of course, I'm sure I'll be notified that customers are missing documents for six months or longer - but nothing mission critical is missing right now.
Went upstairs to get the Disney passes for this weekend - and they were in. Safe!
And Flaming Lips has a video out and it was playing in the lobby - first chance I've had to give them a good listen, and they were very nice indeed.
Must have been that chunk of my hand sacrificed to the cat goddess this morning. I'm wearing a 2x2 with tape across the back. Owie.
Poor me and poor kitty. I'll have to break out the sardines and see if I can't make amends. Except I'm not exactly motivated to do so right now.
Tired. Going home to pack a bag for tomorrow night.
