Kicking butt and taking names

The phone calls began as soon as the clock struck 9:00 AM.
And the first one was to the California Board of Consumer Affairs. Who do I file a complaint with if there is trouble with the management company handling my homeowners association?
Three phone calls and a lot of time on hold later, I have a form. Go ahead. Piss me off. You are accountable and don't think I won't know it. I'll do it happily just to waste your time. And no, you won't be able to pass it off as part of our homeowners expenses because it's your company who will be responsible. Oh very yes.
Thus armed, I went to battle.
Allstate called back and advised me that there is a clear issue of who is responsible - them vs. the master policy the HOA holds.
I called the HOA and told them I needed a copy of the CC&Rs defining insurance coverages.
Not long after that, I got a call from them advising me that they had issued a work order for the plumber to come out.
Called plumber back. They need the people who live in the unit sharing a wall with mine to be present - it looks like a backflow from their unit may be at fault. I call the HOA back - no good, they've gone home at 4:00. Yeah, right.
I get a call back regarding the CC&Rs - and I demand a new work order for the plumber. I get it.
I also refer Allstate to the insurance agent who has the master policy & CC&Rs. They'll talk.
I also call the carpet cleaner (recommended by Allstate) to get the carpets cleaned and dried out to prevent anything nastier from growing. They refer me to a professional restoration company who will be out tomorrow at noon.
So, I get my carpets cleaned, my bathroom ceiling fixed and if we're very lucky, maybe the plumber will have a time to come see by Tuesday.
Yeah, it's a bathroom leak and all my fault. Do it again, and I'll sue your asses. Better be nice to me.
Mom might be in to see Sis tomorrow - if I have my ducks in a row, I'll have the game machine to send home with her. Am I invited to go see Sis? Heh. You know the answer to that one.
Little Bro wants to get this surgery over with - problem is, the surgeon is booked through to July. They're working on it.
Nothing more on Mom; Grandma...but Jim's older brother and his family might be stopping by late July on their way home from Australia...he'll be jazzed about that!
