Once again, children - from the top.

In this life, you get nice and you get crap. Not always equally, consistently or in the quantities you'd prefer.

You can spend more energy on the crap and beat your breast and wail to the sky. And totally ignore the nice in the process, small as it might be that day.

Or you can accept that the crap is there, give it the space and time it needs and then go focus on the small bit of nice and expend your energy THERE.

Choice is entirely up to you and the only - ONLY - part of this equation you have any input on. You're going to get thrown a lot of crap in this life - your choice what you want to do with it.

I know all about crap. Ask why I have three last names. Elaboration is entirely possible from there. If you want your dinner ruined, I can do it. I can also ruin a perfectly sunny Saturday afternoon.

I try to use my powers for good, however.

Angry is good, angry is fine - but recognize it for what it is. Angry leaves when you stop pumping fuel into it. And I don't care what it is, the fuel any crap throws is finite - unless you feed and water. Got it?

Anything I say or do for you when crap happens is going to be towards finding a way to get the Purina Crap Chow out of your house. Dig?

I don't do mean. I do honest. [livejournal.com profile] auntiesiannan is mean.

And if this is vauge, it obviously doesn't apply to you. ^^

Okay, you want sympathy - go look in the dictionary between shit and suicide

That doesn't sound right... shit, sympathy, suicide? That's not alphabetically correct. What dictionary are you using?

Now, that makes sense... and the dictionary confirms it! :)

I learned the saying from a bunch of hardware engineers. I think they spelled sympathy starting with an "SI - "

Take it, leave it or ignore it - up to you.

It's a paraphrase of what a holocaust survivor once taught me - and if you can find spiritual enlightenment in a concentration camp during WWII, you know something a whole lot of people never get, methinks.

She said that no matter what was done to her, said to her or expected of her; she knew she wasn't a mistake, that was as much a miracle as anyone else walking around and nobody could change that fact. It was a matter of focusing on what was real - kind of like looking up at the sky after a really bad day and noticing that the stars still shone as bright in the nighttime sky. You take you strokes where you can find them - and cherish them. Not concentrate on what's wrong -
