Yes, I drove all over the place today. I drove out to Hemet to visit with my older brother, his wife, my mother...and my niece Lauren, who has a 9 year old son, Alex.

She had Alex when she was 20. Just 20. A little remembrance from a date she had while she was in the Air Force. I digress.

Jim and Alex adore each other. I like this a lot - but Mom just got a puppy (and mellow ought to be his name...GREAT puppy) and the puppy is Alex's favorite thing right now.

He's a bit rough on the puppy, too. We had a moment of eyes-meeting-eyes and "let the puppy GO" this afternoon that I really don't want to repeat, ever.

And Alex doesn't ask for anything - he GRABS. Once, when he did this off Lauren's plate, the knee-jerk reaction of "Alex, what are you doing?" was met with something that set my blood boiling.

Lauren just rolled her eyes and tossed it off with a "Oh, that! It's nothing." And did nothing.

Alex has always been a challenge. He scared the crap out of Sis at 18 months when he ran into traffic, all of us yelling at him -

And Alex has very selective hearing, too. If you know what I mean.

*sigh* Gah. I want to bitch slap Lauren so bad...so BAD.

Great. Violence. Great answer, Donna.

So not my problem. Sooooo not my problem.

Fuckit. He comes to my house, there WILL be fun, I promise you.
