The day is still young....
Nov. 11th, 2002 11:31 amWell, got a call from Mom this morning. Sis is having gall bladder surgery Friday.
"What, you didn't know?"
Uh, duh, Mom. She isn't talking to me. About anything.
Well, I guess she won't be available for dinner on my birthday - that's the Thursday night before. Hope it goes well - fat chance I'll hear anything more about it. What, send her a card? Maybe. She'll wonder how I found out and bite my head off.
And Mom is having double vision in one eye and now it's completely blurred. She has an appointment to see someone today at 1:30 - should know more after that. Approaching 80, my Mom is beginning to have eye issues? Jeez, all her relatives who even reached her age had macular degen so bad they couldn't see anything. My guess is that there is pressure or a IOL issue. The worst would be a minor stroke, but with no other symptoms, not likely.
Me? I got a 5% raise this morning, retroactive to March. The weather is good, the whole department was glad to see me back (!) and I'm hungry and want my lunch. Life is too good.
Now, if we can get through the holidays...ooog.
