More stress...more crap...*sigh*
Mar. 20th, 2003 10:30 amThat wonderful plan to store everything in containers while we were in temporary digs? I just got the pricetag per month - over $500 a month to store our things. That's in comparison to the $95 a month we're already paying for one storage space.
And the hits just keep on coming.
The order I placed the last week the New York Women's Center was open never arrived. I've had to place a dispute on the credit card charge.
I've had to change our address with the bank twice this morning already. Update the billing address on all the Amazon.com orders.
The stuff being tossed around regarding the Dixie Chicks just makes me ill. But you knew that.
Dixie Chicks:
We have received thousands of calls and faxes concerning our programming in regard to the Dixie Chicks. Some folks have taken the time to have intelligent discussions about the issue. Some have taken to name calling and cursing. KFRG's radio stations (KFRG 95.1, KVFG 103.1, and KXFG 92.9) have always reflected our listeners views. We don't want to impose any particular point of view or agenda on our listeners. When you have an issue as volatile and emotional as the Dixie Chicks issue has become, there is no one answer that pleases anyone.
I've had countless calls from servicemen who indicated they did not approve of Natalie's comments, yet supported her right to say them as what they fought for in battle. I've had people who have condemned us as supporters of Saddam Hussein if we played the Dixie Chicks music.
Travis Tritt, no stranger to controversy himself, said it best Tuesday. If you don't like what Natalie said, don't buy their albums or their concert tickets. Hit 'em in the pocketbook.
Last week, the Chicks had the number one, number eight, and number 12 selling albums in the area, selling 5427 copies of their records. That is 4 times the number of albums of any other country act.
We have 4 veterans on our staff, including a Vietnam and Bosnia vet. We have a husband of a staff member in the Persian Gulf this morning ready to follow orders. We have two active duty Air Force members. KFRG's support of our troops, is now, and will always be unwavering. We are focusing our attention on these men and women. We will have continuous updated information from CBS News, the Associated Press, and our own news staff to keep you updated on the activity in the Middle East.
Thank you for your comments and your calls. We appreciate your feelings and your input. KFRG is your radio station. The staff and myself are the caretakers.

I note they have not removed them from the air - I'll drop them an email anyway. I hear Travis Tritt wants them to perform for the troops - I doubt they'll object. As long as none of them have guns pointed at them. And there's a junior rep from South Carolina who passed a resolution to do the same thing - on the day we invade Iraq - don't they have anything better to do?
And this is sparking some ollllld stuff that goes back to the Civil War - you know you can't deny seeing it.
Travis Tritt may be country, have a couple of houses sprinkled all through the South - but he spends a whole lotta time in San Bernardino, California where he lives - don't be fooled. But the suggestion is a good one.
Oh look, Wanker is scrapping the air war strategy and is sending group troops in. Delightful.
I'm going to go play some music and forget what day it is.
