Ho, ho .. huh?

There are two boxes from Amazon.com in my office. The contents are gift-wrapped. One of those boxes is 15 x 20 - it's a BIG box.

I've already called Jim - he didn't do it. I checked my wish list (of course I did) - nope.

They are gift-wrapped and will stay that way until December 25th. Whoever you are, you'll have to wait for your squee until then. I promise it will be worth waiting for.

In the meantime, enjoy all the *tweak* you can stomach. THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ME.

Siva is enjoying all the air pouches, too. We pop them. By jumping on them. CDW makes the best quality, BTW. BAM BAM BAM.

There's that, and I've gotten Christmas cards already. Unsolicited. This is just too weird.

I haven't changed a whit. I am by turns ascerbic, mothering and occasionally, funny. I've been like this for decades.

Now, people are being nice to me, and I didn't even ask for it. This is weird.

I've to got get a Christmas Tree this weekend. All-freaking-ready. And put up the outdoor lights.

It'll keep Jim occupied. He is going to miss his mother when she goes home Friday.

I have been immunized against four types of flu bug. *poke* Jim has flatly refused to submit. Everyone, mark your callendars. Every time he gets a bug this winter and I don't - remind him for me, willya? I might have better luck convincing him next year.

Weather good. Need walk. Going to go get it.

Flu Shots

My mother goes through this every year. She harrasses the hell out of me constantly (I've been getting an email every three days with some news story on that or anti-americanism from her) with it, and I'm at the point where I just don't care about it. I didn't get one last year and was fine, and so far people aren't dropping like flies in the wohnheim, so I'm not too worried about it here.

That and lord only knows that I'd have to pay €250 up front for it and wait for BCBS to reimburse me, which I also don't feel like putting up with. My local insurance won't do a damn bit of good until they send me my vouchers, and that will apparently take another 4-6 weeks.

So I go shot free. Fine with me, my skin doesn't need any more holes in it.

And I always warn people that they're getting stuff, means that they don't throw it out or blow it up when it arrives.

Every time I get a flu shot, I get sick for a week. Then I get actual flu a month later anyhow.

When I explain this to the nurse or doctor, they scoff and either claim it was psychosomatic or just tell me I'm flat-out lying. Then they guilt me into jab again, and sho nuff...

I've never gotten a flu shot, although the time is definitely near that I will undergo the needle. I'm on my second round of flu right now (kids included) with the first round being as recent as August. I'm sick and tired of being sick (and tired)

I got a mild buzz off the medium carrier - they hit a vein and I bled a little bit.

I swear by these things - every year I haven't gotten one, I have gotten SO sick....

I'd think you'd be handed the homeopathic remedies like I was - a flu shot? Huh?

People are sick here - there's a bad bug making the rounds. So far, I am healthy and intend to stay that way!

Yeah, most people I know do OK by them. I don't know why my body thinks they're useless.

Oh, they've got the shot here. They've actually had it in the news that there's a shortage and there's a rise in the number of senior citizens getting it this year. But yeah, in general they don't do drugs here like we do at home. NyQuil does not exist on this continent (hmmm, I should put that on the "please bring me when you visit" list), but I've still got som TheraFlu type stuff from last time I was sick and plenty of tea to hold out with.
