Note to self
Dec. 4th, 2003 10:05 pm(EDIT: LJ was b00r(3D last night, so I'm post-dating this.)
When going to a mission in San Juan Capistrano, bring fish chow. Bring lots of fish chow. Because while they have plenty of bird seed for the swallows that weren't there yesterday, they have nothing to feed the koi in the fountations.
And they were huge, gorgeous koi. One so black, you could hardly see him - like black velvet. And a couple black and gold foil - and us without so much as a saltine cracker.
I played hookey yesterday and took Mom to the mission - hey,
silverkun, you think you have a toll road sticker shock? Trying taking the 73 from the 405 to the 5 outside SCAP - 3.50 each way. Yaaay Orange County. Length = 19 miles.
Tomorrow, we get Mom to the airport and we begin the downhill run to Christmas. Thank ghu nobody else is coming out to visit - we get to travel ourselves and when home, work on our own stuff. That will be very nice.
And from all reports, the good weather is leaving with Mom - bah.
