I swear, the next batch of children that run by my house in full screech unhampered by a too-young-to-be-in-charge meiha....

Aw, hell. Maybe they just need some cookies.

I'm in that lovely hammock period between when I get home and have dinner in the oven - and when Jim walks through the door. Start something? No - not a good idea, unless I want to be interupted. Yanno.

Dinner is stuffed squash. Found some at the Farmer's Market at lunchtime today - they one they hold on Saturday? They hold one on Tuesdays, too. Heh. What's $2 a pound on Saturday is $1 - 1.50 a pound Tuesday. And these were irresistable. They look like zucchini - except they are about the size and shape of softballs. The lady says they taste similar, but have more buttery overtones.

The stuffing is up for grabs - hamburger, a can of stewed tomatoes, a jar of sliced mushrooms and a package of onion soup mix. Liberally corrected with everything that sounded good from the spice cabinet. Brown, stuff and put in oven. The dog got what wouldn't go in the squashes - and she was very happy. Me too - I took lots of tastes.

Maybe I'll add some grated cheddar on mine at the end.

Between Food Network and the memory of Jim's grandmother, competition here is tight. *nods*

I have something besides sparrows visiting the bird feeders - they are about the same size, but have rufous heads and sweeter voices. Almost like canaries - I guess I'm going to be a birder after all. I'm such a sucker for them.

Ah, Jim is home. See ya!
