It's not MAKATO, it's MAKOTO. If they can look up the kanji, then theoretically they could manage not to screw up the romanization.

Okay, you're on. What *are* the correct kanji?

That's a valid kanji for the reading "makoto". Of course, there are several kanji for "makoto" and I'm too lazy, I confess, to get out my bigger-than-a-bible kanjo dictionary to see if there are shades of meaning between them. It just seems silly to me to get the kanji right but then screw up the romanization. That's all.
