kyburgAnimal Planet has a new flavor of Animal Cops -
They've gone to San Francisco.
First up - one house, five people, three dogs - and the dogs can't get along. The people are fine. Until one dog ends up dead over trying to kill another one. And the third dog, you never see because it's locked up in a room upstairs. Too aggressive. Five people. One house. Each party with a dog that wants to EAT YOUR FACE OFFF ARRHGG!@#!
Nobody wanted the dog put down. Nobody had a better solution, either. And the cop was typical Californian - "Well, you asked me to help you. What do you think I should do?" Asked repeatedly. C'mon, anyone knew the answer to that question - I think he was hoping they'd come to it on their own. He didn't have a magic wand, after all. As if.
Second? A cat shows up in San Francisco seven years after leaving Florida. Dying here. (Cat was microchipped - and the owners flew in to take her home. Cute kid. Cute cat. I'm not microchipped or going to Florida anytime soon.)
Show is shot in a "oh cute, let's frame the car in moving boxes" style - I kept humming "Little Boxes" under my breath throughout some sequences.
Wish they had chosen San Bernardino instead. "San Francisco has one of the largest animal rights/control departments in the country." Yah, baby.
San Bernardino has one of the smallest - and mountains, and wildlife visiting homeowners. That sort of thing.
But - this has promise. They didn't choose gritty, overexposed Los Angeles, at least.
