Voted...and got Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee! We were also likely some of the earliest voters - and had my first experience with the ink-blot method.

Also - discovered the post office had Jim's passport. Mine is still in process.

Bought some insurance - I'm taking the prescription virus-killer Tamiflu. There is a bad bug running around work, and I am leaving the country in three weeks. I can NOT get sick.

I'll let you know if this kills PDC. I have the merest tickle in my throat and I really want to take a hot bath, but nothing more.

Voting again one of the few times I see the inside of a church. That, and Christmas. Reading the posters on the wall, I am reminded of the incredible shorthand religious-speak uses. "Keeping Christ central in your life." Yo, I'm hip - but what does that really mean? It varies, yanno.

From Peace and Tolerance to I Know More Than You Do Nyah!

Was your polling place at a church today?

Mine's at the Department of Public Works (http://www.cambridgema.gov/~TheWorks/index.html) office. They recently redrew the precinct lines in our neighborhood, so prior to the DPW we voted in a rec room at the Section 8 complex a few blocks over.

My old voting place was the lounge of a community elder care tower block; since I moved, it's been an elementary school. Way before that, it was in a Goodwill. I don't think I've ever voted in a church.

my current polling place is the elementary school, which is okay, except the propaganda is different on the walls.

My polling place is in an ELementary School... but I've never been there.

For the last few years, I've been doing the "early voting" thing in West Covina. They moved it from City Hall to the Library (about 200 yards apart), but I've been voting there for a while.

For as long as I've been old enough to vote, my polling place has been in the town firehouse. When I was younger and lived in New York, my parents used to go to a nearby public school to vote in the gym there.

was in the banquet room of a small Italian restaurant. I've voted in churches before; my polling place for the last 16 years was in a Congregational church, although I have to note it was more like a small social hall than a church. They must use folding chairs for Sunday Services. Prior to that, I've voted in schools and libraries - but never before in a strictly commercial establishment. Kind of a cute sort of Mom 'n Pop operation, by the look of it - must go back there for lunch or supper one day.
