Tell you about the suck week at work? Nah.
Give you silly music to listen to? SURE.
You may not recognize Rupert Holmes' name, but you'd recognize him immediately if you heard some of his stuff - he's the guy who did the "Pina Colada Song," and in my mind, kind of personafies the whole 70's hook-up scene - kind of cute, kind of clever, definitely jaded around the edges.
A couple of album cuts from the same place you'd find Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain -
'Him' - a nice little song, the content is unusual. Used to hear this all the time on the WAVE 94.7 out here. And the other is definitely what I'd call a novelty record - 'Answering Machine,' which is just too tongue-in-cheek for any other kind of description. I may clip a bit or two and actually use it on voicemail.
And who can't use a new copy of 'Ti Kwan Leep' by The Frantics?
