I'm buying stock in Costco. And getting a membership.

Frankly, a job in retail sucks monkey balls just about anywhere you go - but I've managed to stop shopping at Sam's Club (will have to find someplace else to get tires, but I think Costco can do it) and I can definitely never step foot in an Albertson's again.

New community alert - poor_skills. How do you do it with less? I think my first post will have a lot to do with how much money you don't need if you think ahead. Waaay ahead. Doing everything at the last minute with your paycheck when you get it is the most expensive way to pay your way through life.

Jim is home tonight with a migraine. That's a legitimate reason to stay off the floor on a Sunday night. During the week, you can medicate, feed and be okay in a couple of hours. Not on a Sunday night. No way.

It's hot, it's sticky and I'm going to try to get un-itchy. Bah.

So much for more time together on the weekend.

The piano is 99% done - one more trip to put the dampers in and tune. But the action and all the keys are in - you can go plunk all you want, without the dampers the notes ring too much to play seriously.

But plenty of time to go find some sheet music and lessons. Oh baby. Even when it was in Dad's house, it never sounded so good. Worth. Every. Penny.

CostCo most definately does tires. I've never taken my car there (my last set of tires was from Firestone) but I know that they have auto centers. It may be on a location-by-location basis though.

If you frequent Costco for food, there are two things which are your friends: A freezer and a FoodSaver. The latter can be purchased at Costco, and it will save you its price in spoiled or freezer-burned food.

For tires, if you want good ones at a decent rate, let me know. It may require a bit of driving, but my dad works at a tire store, and if you tell him you know me and let me know in advance, he can probably get you a good rate on them. After that you can go to any tire store in the chain, unless you have something against Big O Tires and get your free balancing and rotations done at any of them.

Firestone is just this close to completely out of business over the defective tires they were selling - remember? And I got a couple of those - luckily, I only developed flaws, not blowouts.
