kyburgToday - I see blue.
It is COLD, for us here. (I'm wearing a Tibetian hand-knit I picked up at Peacecraft back in KY last Easter - the one I thought I'd never find a use for, outside the odd snow-camping expedition - it's that thick and wooly.) High yesterday didn't top out above 55 - and it was 34 when I left for work at 8:00. Today, it was a whole 6 degrees warmer when I left at 8:30.
It is also abysmally DRY. Like, chapped lips and bloody noses dry. Dry outside and step indoors to nicely baked air and make everything worse dry. I watered front yard yesterday, blowing on my hands. Poor things. The plumerias are going WTF, and I don't blame them.
But from my window, I can see the ocean - and it is deep, DEEP blue. Little or no chop, and the sky hasn't a cloud in it.
These are the days they take the postcard pictures. If I stepped outside the office and looked north, I likely could see the planes land at LAX - and all the way to Mt. San Jacinto if I turned to my right.
I have also exhaled - two of my sickest LJ'ers have checked in today, and that meets one of my needs.
Talked to Mom last night, and she's hyper. She called me to tell me I was right about "prophylactic antibiotic therapy" - her nephrologist vetoed it. Yeah, put someone who has chronic UTI opportunities on a daily low-dose regimine for no good reason whatsoever - can you say MRSA? Yeah. Doofus GP. I'd like to think he's smarter than I am, but stuff like this makes me wonder. Let's just say he's a bit out of the update loop on pharmaceuticals and move on. *grumble* Dweeb.
I've caved. I've gotten the NetFlix account - there are just somethings out there that are just too awful to buy, and too embarassing to rent over the counter. That's why you have them mailed to you. No, not porn. Really, really BAD 90's flicks I'm curious about. Keep in mind, between 1993 and 1998, I didn't get out much. I'm still not in the habit of going out to see films - even now.
And that meets another one of my needs.
Tomorrow, I have either jury duty or a dental appointment - toss a coin.
