kyburgI swear, the only way the shooting in VA could get any more sensational would be if the shooter had been female. Seriously. I have a lot of respect for the authorities there right now, not releasing anything more than gender. Not even wild guesses.
The hyperbole is just amazing. Just.
Go check the number of people killed on the freeways today - if you can. What, that isn't a lot of people in one place? Does it matter?
Dead is dead. Dead is forever.
And dead is very much one life at a time - you remember when one person losing their life MEANT something?
Some folks are not going home tonight. And some folks are going home tonight, less one person they loved very dearly in their lives.
How it happened doesn't matter.
It happens every day.
And every day - every time - it matters. Just not to you - or me - every time.
Keep that tucked away someplace. The same place where you keep your musings on what you would do if you really REALLY got angry at someone. Angry enough to take a gun to a public place to use it.
