All I want for Christmas -

Oh hell, why not. Ganked from
cadhla, even thought I've been seeing permutations of it filling my FL for weeks now.
BTW, Seanan was probably one of the first people I added to my FL, oh so long ago now - for good reason. You'll love her lots - just be ready to share. She's busy being awesome, and that's not a bad thing.
The Wish List Meme
* Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Jenny/Giles icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is to make sure that these wishes are things you really, truly want.
* If you wish for real-world things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two:
* Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
* If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf and to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. I have open house at my place on Christmas Eve. Since this is a work day this year, it won't open until after I get home...and I plan to get home as close to 3:00 PM as I can. SHOW UP. No, really. SHOW UP. Make my day. SHOW UP. And I'll have a pressie for you too.
2. I am in desperate need of roofing repairs. If you can do it, help find someone and a way for pay for it...this is the big one this year. I'm hoping for dry weather until after we get back from Taiwan. The house itself is fine - the patios are NOT. And the bad will only get worse with rain...and nothing I can do about it. I can trade services - I make really good cookies, knit, type dynamic resumes and just about anything else, come to think of it. I also make killer phone calls. You got a problem with someone and need a third person to place the call? Ask me. I got leaks in my patio covers. Help me out here.
3. If you smoke, quit.
4. I'd love it if someone would pay my piano tuner to come visit me. He's terrific, probably needs the work and he hasn't been by in so long, I don't play my instrument. That would be nice.
5. I love getting new music. Your mix CD is all right with me. Yes, I listen to anything.
6. Bath fizzies are a perennial favorite, but if you'd spot me a trip to a REAL Spa? YAY.
7. I'll second the icon love - I have space for over 150, and use a third of it. Hit me.
8. Bring me something alcoholic and share it with me. Preferably watching anime. Or playing games on the wii/DS like Animal Crossing. I'll provide the snacks.
9. I won't turn down anything homemade. I'm allergic to mango, but the rest is up to you.
10. If that isn't enough help, I've got a ThinkGeek wishlist and an Amazon wishlist. Need the links, you have but to ask for them.
Thanks deeply in advance.
