The current mood of konanut@yahoo.com at www.imood.com

Wish I wasn't so good at this.

Got home at 9:00 PM.

That, for starters. After going to the storage shed for the one box of crap I was certain contained the missing computer cables. Weighed a ton.

Unpacked it. No cables. Rehung the keyhook by the front door and cleaned up the kitchen. Got the mail and discarded all the junk, putting the useful stuff to the side.

No dinner. No break. Found Jim playing Game Boy when I got in. Been doing that all day. It's his day off.

Then he gets up to feed the dog and stops breathing.

After finding a way to stay alive long enough to get to the ER, we spend the next 5 hours there. He gets a breathing treatment, scripts for three meds, including steriods and we tumble into bed at 3:00 AM this morning.

And I'm up and at it again this morning at 6:30 AM. And drag Jim with me. We both have work. We both go.

I wish I wasn't so damn good at staying vertical. I need a mental health day.

My god, I do hope everything is alright. That had to be some scare!
Does this happen often? I mean - how did you know how to handle a situation like that?

Mental Health Day?

And frankly, I'm hard to scare anymore. In truth, there are a lot of things I really wish I didn't know. Both Jim and I are nurse's kids - and I get a triple dose as Dad was a pharmacist, and I'm the widow of a Type I diabetic (he was 36 when he died in 1998).

He's all right - he's doped to the gills and much more comfortable, but both of us have had enough first aid training - well, we both have well-developed senses of gallows humor, suffice to say. He's got a whole new POV for asthma victims, says he. No kidding.

Hate this bronchitis. Hate, hate, hate.
