“Mrs. Reagan does not support President Bush’s re-election and neither do most members of the President’s family,” says a spokesman for the former First Lady.

I have said for some time that for the sake of the people calling themselves conservatives, that there would be some candidate worthy of their loyalty running for office. And that there hasn't been one for some time. As a Republican, that is.

People have said Clinton was one of the best Republican Presidents in recent memory. Oh, that was Michael Moore, as I recall. I'd have to agree with him. Kerry looks much the same, doesn't he?

But sounds like there's plenty of venom to go 'round in the Reagan camp:

Ron Reagan is joined by his sister Patty in opposing Bush’s re-election effort. Only brother Michael Reagan, a conservative talk show host, supports the President and claims Ron is manipulating his mother.

Unlike the other Reagan children, Michael is not Reagan’s biological child. He was adopted by Reagan during the actor’s first marriage to actress Jane Wyman and often complains that his stepmother, Nancy, likes Ron best.

“He is her favorite,” Michael Reagan told Fox News. “Ron can do no wrong. I mean, basically that's it, Ron can do no wrong.”

Anybody who watched Trek in it's first incarnation remembers Jane Wyman.

You can find references to her all over the net - In fact, unbeknownst to the world, “Reagan, under the code name T-10, had been an informant for the FBI from 1943 to 1947, secretly turning in the names of SAG members he felt were ‘subversive,’ ‘un-American,’ or ‘following the Communist party line.’” Reagan’s first wife, actress Jane Wyman, was FBI informant T-9. (Kelley, 78 ) (Website being quoted does not agree with the owner of this living room's opinions. They have their own, so do I. Hooboy, do they. *shivers*)

Here, from SFGate - April 10, 1947.

I really have to feel for him, though. He's now an orphan, twice over.

And that's all the rope I'm going to hand him.

There are plenty of links to google up if you want to hunt it all down yourself.

Heaven help me. I'm beginning to like Nancy Reagan.

Except Spock's mother, Amanda Grayson, was played by Jane Wyatt.

That, I didn't know. (I've always been patchy on Roddenberry's pre-Trek work. Not completely blank, just patchy.)

I shame myself. I was *the* biggest teenage trekkie the world has ever seen. In 1975. When there was no new Star Trek. At all. Nuthin'. I helped named the first space shuttle. Yanno, the one that never went anywhere?

Everyone said I was a total loser. Star Trek was dead.

(How many billions has that franchise made again?)

I love the background on your layout, where did you get it? Looks like Oriental paper.

446 people on your friends list? Wow.

I never thought I'd like Nancy (Just Say No) Reagan either, but I sure as hell do now!

You specify a file as the background instead of a color - pretty nifty, neh? It's a scan of an antique Japanese textile - and it makes really good wallpaper too.

I read fast. Very fast. And while I have that many listed, not that many have added me back - or post regularly, to be honest.

*sighs* Nancy is Not Happy with a lot of things - wonder how it is all going to shake out.

Right, but where did you get your scan of an antique Japanese textile? You scanned it yourself or you found it online? I really like it a lot.

Oh, that!

We got married wearing Japanese clothes - and that file was from one of the eBay auctions I was using - nifty, huh?

Am I the only one that noticed the racist overtones of that article?

Oh hell no. Hence, the disclaimer. It's a very thinly veiled white supremacy hoohah. Jews and commies and spies, oh my!
