I think if Bush is trailing in the polls right before the election, Bin Laden will be grabbed. If he's leading, he'll hold off because it could backfire if too many people find the timing suspicious, and in this case it will be shortly after the election.

plugging dubai is too complicated a concept for the average american, let alone the average policymaker, to grok.

i have a friend in dubai right now. well, not dubai, but one of the UAE. he's teaching at a university there. he's scared shitless most days.
