All the books.

Nearly all the candy.

IS GONE.

I'm raiding the cupboard for tea bags, rice crackers and extra boxes of Pocky -

The fun began after you left, [livejournal.com profile] caitlin - doesn't that just figure?

Whoops - gotta go!

We didn't have that first Trick or Treater. Which in a way is good, because we didn't have that first piece of candy being as we are that broke. (I'm so tired of hot dogs!) But it's sad because the most likely reason is that the neighbor across the street has been telling the kids that we are witches. Which is true, but they are telling it to the kids in a negative way.

Barely went through one bag of candy here, and I was giving kids 2-4 pieces each. (small random handfuls)

A lot fewer kids than last year, as usual, only about 2-3 had actual costumes on, generally the youngest.. about 3 more had masks or face makeup, but otherwise just school clothes and their normal jackets, and the remaining 15-20 didn't bother trying at all.

Only 3 out of the 7 groups even bothered saying "Trick or Treat" too.

Blah!

We need a sign that says, if you're not dressed up, don't bother knockin'.

Unfortunately, while my neighborhood HAS and continues to improve from what it once had been.. I tend to fear that doing things like that would lead to me dealing with vandalized gardens, house, and car for a few days. *sigh*

Some really asshole-ish kids around still, with parents who don't supervise them or care. (quite a few groups, if the kids were like 10-14 year olds, had no supervising adults in sight at all)

I gave the parents who were with their kids candy - and I found I needed to hand out bags, of all things this year.

They wanted to see my cat, they wanted to take my picture, they came in by car, mini-van and on foot. Raided, my ass - I got boarded!

The cutest must have been the widdle pink care bear that couldn't have been more than 2, and that's giving some room - closer to 14/16 months if I'm any guess.

I had groups from 4 to 17 years old in one bunch - ten or so in one group, as I recall. I opened the door and stood in it for a long time waiting for everyone to come up.

*wry* I realised at around the time I was sitting in traffic on 110 N that I'd forgotten the bag of cough drops you gave me on your breakfast table.

That does figure...

Only if it wouldn't be too much trouble.

I don't want to put you out or anything.
