Last night of TIES classes. Got another - yes, another - nifty certificate for me to put in a folder and gather dust. Lessee...that's three now, the certificate for the original orientation, the one for completion of MAPP, and now this one. This one, they at least printed individually - the others are bad photocopies that I had to write my own name into.
One of those same-sex partnerships already has a match - but unlike the MAPP classes, the TIES attendees scuttled out of the building as fast as they could. No networking here, good grief. I was able to get one phone number for the fellow who's a principal at a school system in the LAUSD - boy, am I going to need it.
No more pina colada Almond Joys. Well, I can start looking elsewhere. Boo hiss.
A collection of LJ posts from bloggers in Iraq. He doesn't identify where they came from, but I recognize them and remember them well. (
being_homeless, you have to add
throwingstardna if for no other reason than he is also under the influence of Sock Monkey. Check his info page. *grins*)
Today? Work. And picking up the table and chairs for Thursday and another appointment tonight.
I'm going to stop by the farmer's market this morning for sweet potatoes. The DCFS people from the state are coming out today to do the home inspection. Jim gets to manage that.
Breakfast. Pack a lunch. Continue.
Oh, and I heard from Mom yesterday - surgery has been scheduled for December 7th. Stop laughing. I married Cliff on December 7th - and it was a day that lived in infamy, thank you very much.
We took down a lot of the overgrown-ness in the front and back yards and they look HOOGE now.
Unfortunately, that took the last of the money we were hoping to use to buy a new car with next January. Guess what? I'm going to look into home equity options - at least if I have to finance a car, I can deduct the interest on taxes. MAJOR GRUMP. We can't keep going like this on 1.5 gimpy cars. I know better.

Date: 2004-11-23 08:06 am (UTC)Also good luck with DCFS. I know my friend who adopted (privately via Mexico/Texas) did a major house cleaning for the house inspection.
With a small child, reliable transportation is important :)

Date: 2004-11-23 08:10 am (UTC)Only bad thing about this is the way it spreads your car note over more years, making you spent much more on interest. I've been tempted to do the same thing with some of our debt just to reduce the stress of managing everything :-)

Date: 2004-11-23 01:21 pm (UTC)Years ago I had a landlord who was born right on December 7, 1941. He actually was a pretty decent landlord, for one year.
