Cross-posted from all over:

"The American Family Association is hoping to stack the decks for this years People's Choice Awards to (as the latest missive from Don "Wouldn't Know A Real Family if It Bit Him In The Ass" Wildmon puts it) "make sure The Passion Of The Christ gets more votes than any other movie in history." The e-mail includes a link that (funny thing) takes you to the AFA site, where you're asked to give them all sorts of personal information and agree to accept their mailings, at which point they'll magically whisk you to CBS's People's Choice voting page.

"But, shoot, it's a lot easier than that. And there are far better movies to vote for than that bloody religious snuff film."

I went, I did. But...

"Best Look"? (No guys.)
"Best HAIR?" (No guys. Again.)

WTF. Talk about your priorities being in a wad.

And yes, it's already happening. You have to choose between Shrek 2 and The Incredibles for Best. Poo.

I voted. My choices were a bit random as I didn't care about a lot of it. But I'd rather not seen Passion of The Christ win in the interest of religous diversity. But why were all the music choices country music - there's a ton of people who listen to other things from rock to rap/hiphop! (NYC doesn't even have a country radio station!)

as a musician, I am offended that my choices for music were country only. Down with clear-channel, down with the FCC, down with everyone who is so interested in protecting us from the creativity of others.

Considering all options for "best movie" are films I categorize ranging from "bad movie" to merely "decent movie," and considering they want you to vote for every category, I don't think I'll be voting.

Heh. I've voted at least 5 times -- there's no validation process, which is what the RRR loonies are counting on. And I just vote at random, or in the case of the C&W garbage leave all the choices blank.
