Does the fact that they are calling themselves "red America" strike anyone else the Soviet way?

They've become the people our parents warned us about. They're Soviets. Only some of the buzzwords are changed. (One party systems are one party systems, folks. It doesn't really matter if they're called communists or republicans....)

Hide all the facts. Tell the public what you want them to hear. Kill those who would question authority.

This is the kind of behavior I would expect out of a pro-life President.

Very much agreed...I found it interesting that Kerry was the one (in other pictures of this) comforting the family, and that Ted Kennedy was there as well, as the young man was from his 'turf'. If they'd done this during the campaign, Bush's cronies would have screamed foul.

Absolutely on the "red" business. I'm still becroggled that the Republicans didn't grab "blue" for themselves -- they missed a perfect chance to smear the Dems with the whole "pinko commie liberal" bit all over again.

But yes, we are moving ever closer to a totalitarian state. Most of what's needed is already in place; all they have to do is start enforcing it. And if/when it happens, it'll happen FAST.
