Got enough to clear the AMEX bill. The crowd goes wild!

Mom's a bit anemic - etiology unknown. One of the things I need to do tomorrow when I go visit her is donate some blood, if they'll have me.

It's supposed to get into the 80's over the weekend. Schweet.

Today is the department's potluck and gift exchange - an annual event that I began with my first year with the company. It's early this year because the boss is leaving for his holiday the middle of next week...but there are few things I love more than departmental potlucks. We have some excellent cooks who also code in my unit - the boss being one of them.

Me? Someone is fetching kofta in my honor - I'm tossing a green salad with goat cheese and walnuts before I head out the door.

Last night, I took a whole crew from Jim's work out for shoes - 50% off everything, and it was grand. I was also tired and worn out getting home, and didn't get anything for myself.

Friday. Pay day. It's all good.

Nice when you have the same blood type as a relative. I've donated blood for both my older daughter and my wife (plus another 8 gallons on the side).

Did they have to remove that kidney? I remember that kidney failure caused anemia because you lost the hormones produced by the adrenal glands on top of them. Getting EPO shots was the result.

We had a massive layoff today. I survived. At least I still have a payday.

My mother was very anemic after her surgery too, plus her potassium levels just plummeted. After a couple of units of blood, though, she was fine.

And thank God for blood donors. She's AB negative, and both my brother and I are positive, and weren't able to help.
