kyburg: (Christmas)

Last guest left at midnight. And there are so many leftovers -

I also found rice in my hair. In the back. This morning. WTF.

Christmas mornings taste like oranges, peanuts and chocolate. And fruitcake really does work well for breakfast, after the scrambled eggs.

I've got so much sweet stuff. It's insane.

And it's been one of those holidays I wish I could save a little from for a rainy day. 24K, this one.

I actually see family today for the first time this holiday. If you don't count my family of choice, which was ALLLLL yesterday. If you made the trip and made merry here, thank you again for making it - we had a wonderful time, all small disasters to the side.

IKEA meatballs rock. Over rice.

And I got sake in my stocking this morning. Life is thus good.

(Jim did an excellent job, BTW. Books, DVDs and toys. I'm very, very happy today.)

Could I give a gift to all of you today?

Some days, you really have to work at being happy. A lot of the time, you have to be patient and just hope it gets better.

Please remember, it starts with yourself. If you don't do what is needed to make yourself happy, there ain't enough dope in the world that can compensate for it.

If you can't stand spending the holidays with people who don't appreciate you - don't do it.

Have a burger, take a walk in the park and congratulate yourself on being wise enough to know what your really need - not that you don't have the "perfect family" everyone else does. (Nobody else does, either. It's a closely held secret - shhh, don't tell anyone.)

May your Christmas be merry. Make yourself merry, and things will fall in behind it.

Lots of leftovers, eh? *g* I'd be happy to go over and relieve you of some of it. *g*

Thank you again for having me over. It was loads of fun.

Sure. Same warning applies, though. I may not be the best of company...

Just thinking about putting together a small party. Donna told me that [livejournal.com profile] poetpaladin and [livejournal.com profile] cecerose were interested too...

Been sick the last couple of days so I really don't have anything fancy planned. Probably just hanging out, some dinner and watching movies while the new year comes in.

Best suggestion you ever gave me - whether you realize you were doing it or not!

That's the best advice I've gotten all week.

Merry Christmas -

I'm glad our mutual appreciation for Mr. Manilow brought us together. Maybe someday we'll get to meet in person.

Not spending holidays with people who don't appreciate me - I could've used that reminder a bit earlier, but I'll save it for the next one.

*wah*

Next year. For sure.

You may smack me when ready.
