Define suckage - use twenty five words or less.

Friday night -
Homecooked dinner from scratch -
Stopped up kitchen sink.
No dishwasher.
Nowhere to wash dishes.
The end.

And my home warranty? Nobody can be called using the policy until Monday. I've called the company directly, and while I'll have to pay the entire amount, they will likely be out today.

However - any plans I have for day? You got it - I can just forget it. I have to wait for the plumber.

..suckaaaaaage.

Laundry sink if you have one, bathtub if you don't.

Taking a shower with my dishes isn't my idea of fun, but...

Same condition. No love there.

I have no dishwasher or garbage disposal. I wipe the worst muck off dirty dishes with leftover dinner napkins.
I use a dish tub normally, because I have a very large sink and it would waste heaps of water to fill it for washing dishes.
I use biodegradeable washing up liquid, and when my tub is full I dump it out in the garden. The drain in the sink is actually rarely used.

good luck

I'd love a laundry tub! One of those galvanized aluminum ones, right?

Nothing so grand, just a small plastic dishwashing tub I keep in my sink. It's about the size that could hold a stack of 8.5x11" papers.

while you're waiting pour several kettles of boiling water down the drain.
Boiling water will liquefy any greasy kitchen clogs.
You're not using the garbage disposer are you?

Did all those things - methinks I'll have to do more "safe pipes" work in the future....

We haven't had a kitchen clog since we went to the Asian grocery and bought this mesh strainer thingy for the disposal side. Last plumber said just don't use the disposal so we don't.

I'd go there, except we don't use it much already - the really big stuff goes out into the trash or the compost heap if we can manage it.

And the bathroom sink was in the same condition. WTF.

Bathroom sink? Fill a bucket in the tub? Boil water in a big pot like when you go camping?

As far as the sink goes, if boiling water or drano won't do it(one or the other never both) go to Lowes and ask for a snake. Its a long bendy, springy thing you can shove down there to try to break the clog or pull it back up. They come in electric, hand crank and just shove models. The handcrank and just shove models are cheaper than a plumber.

Got the snake - Jim worked that POS last night and it didn't get the job done.

Whatever it was, it was done really well. Poor guy was here for hours, over pipes less than a foot long.

*grumbles*

good luck. plogged up pipes are quite nasty.

of course, my dad poured draino or some equivalent down our pipes so often to keep them from getting plogged that he nearly melted them through, so there is another extreme...
